I Am Sick Of Jezebel

Revelation 2:20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel...

I hate Jezebel. This spirit has opposed the church for too long.

Jezebel did not personally kill Naboth in 1 Kings 21, she used the accusations of people under her control to sow seeds of evil. Evil that caused the community to believe those words over the words of a man who was being honored and seemed to have a good reputation. The words of the Jezebel spirit are spells, spells cast against people who stand in her way and stop her getting what she wants. The accusation seemed to protect, in Naboth’s case it was to protect the Law and uphold righteousness, but it was a diabolical seed of distrust.

This is how I have seen it work against others and against me, time and time again.

Someone gets hurt and they whisper to another, under the guise of caring for the other, ‘He/she did it to me, watch, they will do it to you’. The other initially brushes it off as the voice of hurt but over weeks, months and years they are always mindful, always watching for the threat to manifest. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy, the very thing they are looking for, watching for, appears and the spell has won.

This is why honor is so important. It resolves conflict, believes the best about another and refuses to listen to voices of condemnation. BUT it is not enough. Jezebel MUST be confronted by the prophetic voice. She cannot be entertained, she must be restrained. When listening to the words coming from the lips of this spirit, it must be confronted not pastored, challenged, not understood. If you have entertained the words, it must be repented of. Stand up and be the prophetic voice that has been forged within you and use words of love, faith and hope to overcome!
